[AUDITORY] IHCON 2024: Call for Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

Plans are now underway to hold the next International Hearing Aid Conference (IHCON) in person in Lake Tahoe, California, on August 21-25, 2024.

Attendees are invited to contribute abstracts of presentations for the scientific program. Abstracts for all invited and contributed presentations are required and must be received by Monday April 1, 2024 for inclusion in the conference program. Notification of abstract acceptance/rejection will be made no later than June 3, 2024.

Please visit ihcon.societyconference.com to submit your abstract(s).

The purpose of the IHCON conference is to advance knowledge and facilitate progress in hearing-aid research and development through the exchange of current research findings and technical advances related to the treatment of hearing impairment with hearing aids and other technologies. The organization of IHCON 2024, as with the previous IHCON meetings, will emphasize the international and multidisciplinary nature of the field and the rapid pace of developments occurring throughout the world. Both invited and contributed presentations will address topics relevant to hearing-aid research.

The Scientific Committee (Inga Holube, Erin Picou, and Ian Wiggins) have been developing the program. Please refer to the IHCON website (https://ihcon.org) for the current list of topics for IHCON 2024 and the list of invited speakers.

Due to it’s success in 2022, the International Hearing Aid Seminar (IHAS), will be back and it will be held immediately prior to IHCON. The purpose of IHAS is to foster research by junior investigators (e.g., advanced graduate students, postdocs, and junior scientists) in industry and academia.

Sig Soli Scholarships: Undergraduate students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and medical students and residents are welcome to apply for a Sig Soli scholarship. Female students, under-represented minority students, and students with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Student scholarships will provide cover registration and accommodations at Granlibakken. The number of scholarships awarded per laboratory or research group may be limited, depending on the availability of funds. The Sig Soli Scholarship is named after the late Dr. Sig Soli, the founder of IHCON.

We look forward to seeing you at IHCON 2024.

Sincerely,

Sunil Puria, Ph.D.

Chair, IHCON
