We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time audiology researcher at the Starkey Hearing Research Center in Berkeley, CA. The center is part of Starkey’s Research division, which consists of world-class clinicians, engineers, and scientists. Researchers at the Center work collaboratively to develop new insights in psychoacoustics, cognition, speech communication, and the treatment of hearing loss.

Research audiologists are the Center’s champions for audiology, they are responsible for introducing clinical considerations during project development, for the execution of laboratory and field trials, as well as managing a track of self-directed research. This position is part of the larger audiology research team that extends to Minneapolis, Minnesota and Toronto, Canada.

 

Interested applicants should have the following traits:

- Ph.D. in audiology or a related hearing science. Applicants with an Au.D. and strong record of self-directed research will also be considered.

- A keen interest in interdisciplinary research. The person in this role works extensively with hearing scientists and university faculty from a range of disciplines.

- Ability to function effectively in an environment requiring the rapid testing of ideas

- A minimum of two-years experience conducting perceptual experiments that include laboratory and/or field trials

- An understanding of clinical best practices in audiology

- Experience with the prescription of hearing aids

- A working understanding of statistical analyses

- A record of publication with a passion to continue


Compensation will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate and includes: a 401K plan, corporate profit sharing, comprehensive health care, and an employee stock ownership plan.
