Dear Colleagues,
The next international application round for the Master’s Degree Programme in Music and Science at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) will be open from 7 to 21 January 2026.
The Master's Degree Programme in Music and Science is aimed at students interested in understanding the various functions of music in contemporary life by examining music through a cognitive, psychological and societal lens. The programme is multidisciplinary, and suitable for individuals from various backgrounds including musicology, music education, computer science, music therapy, and psychology/cognitive science. Study topics include: Music Psychology, Music Cognition, Music in society and culture, Embodiment in Music, Therapeutic Uses of Music, Music & Creativity, and Computational Music Analysis.
The degree programme is a two-year course run by some of the world’s leading researchers in music research, and is closely affiliated to two flagship research projects hosted by the Department of Music, Arts & Culture Studies:
