[AUDITORY] 13dB Miracle



JJ Johnston and Karlheinz Brandenburg generated this musical example to show the power of masking for audio compression. They called it the 13dB miracle because the same signal to noise ratio (13dB) sounds vey different depending on where the noise lies in the spectral-temporal plain.
