[AUDITORY] PhD position in auditory cognitive neurosicence

In the Biological Psychology Group at the University of Oldenburg, Germany, there is a vacancy for the next possible date for a

PhD student (m/f/d)
in Auditory/Cognitive Neuroscience
(E13 TV-L, working hours 75%)

for a period of three years. There is the possibility of personal scientific qualification (doctorate thesis).

The PhD student will join the vibrant interdisciplinary research community of the Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all https://hearing4all.de/en/ working in the field of auditory/cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging with a focus on hearing and understanding in realistic communication scenarios.

Tasks include:

  • Planning of experimental studies contributing to the above topic
  • Volunteer/patient recruitment, data acquisition and analysis
  • Presentation of results at meetings/conferences and publication in peer-reviewed journals

Recruitment requirements:

  • Completed scientific university studies (Diploma (Uni)/ Master) with an above average grade in the field of neurocognitive psychology or a related discipline
  • Experience in at least one neuroimaging method ((f)MRI, MEG, fNIRS) or neuromodulatory approach
  • Prior experience with auditory studies
  • Good spoken and written English and German language skills
  • Good programming skills (e.g. matlab, python)
