[AUDITORY] 3-year fully funded PhD on rehabilitation of cochlear implant listeners in Marseille, France



Applications are opened for a 3-year PhD fellowship on perceptual learning of vocoded speech to work with Olivier Macherey at the Laboratory of Mechanics and Acoustics in Marseille (France) in collaboration with Alexis Hervais-Adelman from University of Zurich and Mathieu Marx from Toulouse University Hospital. This position is part of a project funded by the “Fondation pour l’Audition” which aims to develop and test rehabilitation strategies for cochlear implant users with residual or normal contralateral hearing. The PhD student will first design and compare different rehabilitation strategies in naïve normal hearing listeners listening to cochlear implant simulations and then take part in an evaluation in real cochlear implant listeners. We are looking for a student with a background in audiology, neuroscience and/or acoustics with good technical and writing skills as well as the ability to work in a team.
