[AUDITORY] Call for papers: EUROREGIO/BNAM 2022, physical, Aalborg, May 9-11, 2022

Dear list,

Call for papers: EUROREGIO/BNAM 2022, physical, Aalborg, May 9-11, 2022

Abstract deadline: January 20th, 2022 (extended)

Paper deadline: March 23rd , 2022

In May 9-11 2022, Aalborg will host the bi-annual Baltic Nordic-Acoustic Meetings (organized by the Nordic Acoustic Association), which this time is merged with the EUROREGIO (organized by the European Acoustics Association). The conference brings together academics, engineers, consultants and other practitioners in the wide field of acoustics.

While embracing the wide field of acoustics, special attention is given to aspects relating to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Three related keynotes are already scheduled:

  • Mette Sørensen, Senior Researcher at the Danish Cancer Society and Professor at the Department of Natural Science and Environment at Roskilde University, Denmark, will present a keynote on: "Health Effects of Traffic Noise: Results from a Nationwide Study"
  • Fredrik Ljunggren, Professor in Engineering Acoustics, Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resource Engineering, Luleå Technical University, Sweden, will present a keynote on: "Sound Insulation, Residents’ Satisfaction, and Design of Wooden Residential Buildings"
  • Bernd T. Meyer, Professor in Communication Acoustics, Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg on “Applied AI in Audio and Audiology”

The call for abstract is open on https://bnam2022.org/abstract-submission/
The abstract format is standard text, max 300 words, no equations or references, and no obligatory sub-sections.

The conference format complies with EAA standards, which means that both oral and poster options will exist. The written paper (max 10 pages, max 10 MB) will be peer-reviewed, and is optional (but strongly encouraged!).

The conference is preceded by the Young Forum on May 7-8, 2022, which is a two-day training school for junior scientists. The training school will take place on the campus of Aalborg University (campus zip code 9220 Aalborg Ø) utilizing seminar and group rooms for lectures and discussions, and lab facilities for hands-on exercises.

Favorable options also exist for sponsors and exhibitors. The exhibition will be adjacent to the main lecture hall (Europahallen at Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre) in the same airy foyer as lunches and refreshments are served (included in registration). See further on: https://bnam2022.org/exhibition/

As you can see, we optimistically expect that the conference can be held physically. Denmark is currently experiencing the same rise of COVID-19 infections as many other countries during winter, but 80% of the population is vaccinated and 53% boosted (third shot), thus the spreading of infection has limited consequence. While the infection will surely be with us for many years to come, lockdowns are not anticipated in DK. We hope that you share our optimism and welcome the opportunity to re-connect in joint physical spaces in science.
