[AUDITORY] Musicians and non-musicians needed for an online study of hearing and balance

Dear AUDITORY list,

We are looking for musicians and non-musicians to take part in an online research study to assess the influence of the balance system on hearing abilities.

To take part you must:

If you are a musician: Actively play an instrument at least 3 days a week, for at least the last 3 years.

If you are non-musician: No experience of formal musical training (did not actively play an instrument at least 3 days a week in the last 3 years)

Be aged 18-45 years old

Not have a clinically defined hearing loss

Not have ear malformation and disorders, neurological or systemic disease, or a history of ototoxic/vestibulotoxic drug use

As part of this study, you will be asked to complete two separate online testing sessions. The first is a general questionnaire about your hearing health and balance. The second is a series of tests to assess your hearing abilities to be completed at a later date (TBC).

Each online testing session will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

You will be entered into a prize draw to win Amazon vouchers for taking part in this study. There will be separate prize draws for each part of the study.
