[ISMIR-Community] DAFx2019 inclusivity grants: 2nd call for applications

Hello.

This is a second call for inclusivity grant applications for this year’s DAFx conference. Please could you forward this to any potential applicants who would benefit from funding, particularly those from underrepresented groups? The application deadline is Friday 31st of May. See below for more details.

We have now announced our keynote speakers, and will be announcing tutorial sessions soon http://dafx2019.bcu.ac.uk/programme/keynotes.

Cheers
Ryan

------------------------

In order to promote diversity and inclusivity at this year’s DAFx conference, we are offering 4 bursaries to applicants who are in need of support. Each of the bursaries will cover the cost of one standard registration (including all social events, tutorials, workshops and additional activities), along with a travel grant of up to £250 per applicant which will be provided through a standard UK expenses procedure.

The grants are kindly supported by Ableton and Native Instruments, and are intended to help those who may struggle to finance their attendance at DAFx, and to encourage diversity. This is in addition to our newly introduced Code of Conduct which aims to provide a welcoming environment for all attendees.

To apply for a grant, you will need to send a CV, along with a cover letter (no longer than one side fo A4) that explains your requirements for a bursary to dafx2019@xxxxxxxxx. The deadline for submissions will be Friday, 31st of May, in order to give unsuccessful applicants time to purchase earlybird tickets if required. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of DAFx committee members, and a decision will be made mid-June. For more details, please visit http://dafx2019.bcu.ac.uk/grants. Applications from delegates who have submitted papers will be prioritised, and in addition we will aim to provide support specifically for underrepresented groups.

This year, The 22nd International Conference on Digital Audio Effects (DAFx-19) will be held between 2nd and 6th of September, at Birmingham City University in the UK. Earlybird registration is now open: http://dafx2019.bcu.ac.uk/registration

See you in September.
