[AUDITORY] Headphone-listening study

Dear list members –

After a couple of Twitter tip-offs (tips-off?), I thought I’d share the ‘call for participants’ for an ongoing research project investigating headphone listening.

The study, funded by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council, examines the ways in which individuals experience the world with, through, or alongside headphones. Potential participants are invited to take part in a simple interview of an hour or less, either in person or in technology-mediated form.

If you’re a keen headphone listener, do please get in touch either by e-mail or through this webform: www.jakedowns.co.uk/research. I’m particularly keen to find individuals fulfilling one or more of the following criteria:
— aircraft pilots
— members (including ex-members) of the armed forces
— call-centre workers
— ASMR enthusiasts
— audiobook listeners
— security guards
— those who are partially sighted or blind
— those who express a distaste for headphones

Many thanks
Jacob
