Join a cross-functional Bose team at the intersection of research and product development focused on bringing emerging audio technologies to market in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, technically engaging environment. The Senior Research Audiologist is a highly entrepreneurial individual who works across disciplines, taking an active leadership role in designing and executing innovative auditory research that provides meaningful data on cutting-edge audio systems under design and development. Solid understanding of the design and analysis of valid auditory experiments and clinical trials, enthusiasm for innovative approaches to auditory research, highly developed critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team will all be necessary in the successful applicant.
Responsibilities:
Design, execute, and analyze innovative auditory experiments and clinical trials to evaluate product concepts and prototypes in both laboratory and field environments.
Work as a member of an entrepreneurial Bose R&D team to integrate applied auditory research effectively into all phases of product vision, design, and development.
Build out a research infrastructure that enables nimble and effective field data collection to support fast product development
Develop and supervise collaborative research relationships with academic centers to augment Bose product research
Required Skills:
At least 2 years’ experience in design and execution of applied auditory research in evaluation of personal audio devices such as headphones, PSAPs, or hearing aids
Ability to work interactively in an interdisciplinary science, engineering, marketing, and business environment to analyze and solve diverse problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid technical understanding of audio signal processing principles
Preferred Skills:
Leadership experience as auditory scientist in an interdisciplinary team engaged in development of personal audio products
Facility with MATLAB, Python, and other high-level computing environments/languages for data manipulation and analysis
Track record as funded principal investigator in competitive grant environment (NIH, NSF)
Education Requirements:
PhD in hearing science, psychoacoustics, audiology, or related field
Minimum research experience (principal investigator) of 2 years; 5 years + preferred
