The School of Computer Science and Communication at KTH Royal Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenured position of Associate Professor in Computer Science within the area Music Communication. The duties include research and teaching as part of the faculty at the Department of Speech, Music and Hearing.
The position is in the area of music communication with music performance and perception as central parts. Focus is on modelling of the processes involved in music performance and listening based on the characteristics of sound generation in musical instruments and voice. A long-term goal is to develop general models of auditory perception and cognition. The subject is interdisciplinary combining engineering methods from computer science and signal processing with human perception and cognition disciplines. Applications are found in internet-based music services, in music production and in the performing arts.
