Second Posting: Research Audiologist Wanted: Postdoctoral fellowship at the US Army Research Laboratory (UNCLASSIFIED)

Applications are invited for a research audiologist position to work as a
member of the Auditory Research Group at the Human Research and Engineering
Directorate, U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL).
 
The Human Research and Engineering Directorate (HRED) is the principal
center of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory conducting research directed
toward optimizing Soldier performance and man-machine interactions. HRED's
scientific research in Soldier performance is directed toward the
development of human engineering as well as cognitive, perceptual, and
sensory neuroscience technologies and design principles to protect and
extend and enhance the Soldier's performance under hostile and highly
stressed conditions. HRED examines human performance in the perceptual,
cognitive, and psychomotor domains in order to increase the body of
knowledge of human capabilities and limitations, and to assess the impact of
emerging technologies on Soldier performance. The Auditory Research Group
carries out research activities in auditory displays, bone conduction
communications, speech communication, stealthy military operations, and
methods of hearing enhancement and protection.

The successful applicant should be credentialed as an audiologist and have a
PhD in audiology or another related discipline; be a U.S. citizen; and have
or be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Familiarity with digital
audio and programming expertise in C++, Visual Basic, or Matlab are a plus.
The initial contract is for a twelve month period.
