New position at Northwestern University

The Roxelyn & Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University has been at the forefront of research and education in audiology since the inception of the field. The department currently houses research laboratories dedicated to the study of hearing and hearing loss, vibrant PhD and AuD programs, and a state-of-the-art hearing clinic that provides clinical education to students at Northwestern as well as audiological services to the greater Chicago area. We are seeking a dynamic leader to integrate these strengths via translational research as well as to expand the scope of clinical services and education through innovative new programs. This twelve-month position is based on the Evanston campus and is initially funded by a three-year grant from the Hugh Knowles Center. The position is renewable, contingent upon the availability of funding. Preferred starting date is January 1, 2011.

Duties:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach plan to increase clinic and program visibility.

2.  Expand the scope of practice in our audiology clinic.

3. Connect with local, national, and international hearing health care professionals and form strategic partnerships beneficial for training and research.

4. Interface with the academic faculty to augment translational and outcomes research.

5.  Engage with the hearing health care industry in sponsored research.

6.  Carry an active patient load in the clinic.

7.  Have clinical teaching responsibilities.

Salary: Competitive, depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: PhD and/or AuD in Audiology. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology. Eligibility for licensure in Illinois. The candidate must have a record of teaching in the classroom or clinic. Candidates with organizational, management and leadership experience will be preferred.
