Several members of this list asked me for examples of rock music I was
talking about.  Here are a couple of links:

Although I am aware of other types of rock and pop music, this type of
music is what people are bombarded with in stores and restaurants and in
outdoor concerts sponsored by the county (in residential neighborhoods)
here in the Seattle area.
