postdoc position



The Rotman Research Institute of Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care,
affiliated with the University of Toronto, has an opening for a 2 year
post-doctoral research fellowship in the area of Auditory Perception and
Attention using EEG, MEG, and/or fMRI.  The project aims to define the
neural and psychological mechanisms that underlie auditory scene
analysis and to assess how these mechanisms are influenced by the aging
process.  The work will be done under the supervision of Dr. Claude
Alain.  The position is to begin in September, 2002 (negotiable) and is
for two years with the possibility of a third year. Applicants who are
eligible for funding from Canadian agencies are expected to apply to the
appropriate agencies.  Salary is in line with the fellowship scales of
the Canadian Institute of Health Research, and includes an allowance for
travel and research expenses.  Applicants should have a Ph.D., M.D., or
equivalent degree.  A background in cognitive psychology or a related
field is essential.  Experience with functional neuroimaging is
desirable, but not necessary.  Applicants should submit a C.V. and
relevant reprints, together with a cover letter describing current
research interests and future research goals, and also arrange to have
