Dear Colleagues,
The
Yao Laboratory at Rutgers University is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the neural circuit mechanisms underlying auditory and audiovisual decision-making and how these processes are altered by hearing loss.
This position is supported by our recently funded NIH R01, “Effects of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss on Auditory Decision-Making.” Our research uses awake-behaving gerbils and combines animal psychophysics, high-channel-count electrophysiology, optogenetic and
chemogenetic circuit manipulations, and computational approaches.
We welcome applicants with a PhD in neuroscience, psychology, biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may include animal behavior and psychophysics, in vivo electrophysiology or imaging, rodent surgery, neural circuit manipulation,
auditory neuroscience, computational neuroscience, and/or programming in MATLAB or Python. The start date is flexible.
The position is based at the
Rutgers Brain Health Institute and the
Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Additional information and application instructions are available here:
