![]() Dear colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention to this year’s Forum Acusticum 2026 (FA2026), which will be held from September 8th to 12th, 2026 in beautiful city of Graz, close to the Austrian Alps.
Forum Acusticum is the annual conference of the European Acoustics Association (EAA) and draws a wide international audience across a broad range of fields including technical, bio- and musical acoustics, as well as psychoacoustics, audiology, and auditory neuroimaging and neurophysiology. The conference venue, Graz, is known for its UNESCO-listed historical city centre (the Old Town) and is within easy traveling distance from the Austrian Alps and several major European cities, including Vienna and Budapest.
We would like to call special attention to a session entitled “Neural substrates of complex auditory perception and auditory scene analysis”, which we are organizing under the wider theme of “Physiological Acoustics and Audiology” (area A14). The session intends to bring together neuroimaging, electro- and neurophysiological insights on (i) the formation and integration of complex auditory features, such as pitch, loudness, timbre or lateralization; (ii) the segregation of auditory information associated with different sources or objects; (iii) the interaction with auditory cognitive processes, such as memory, attention and expectation; and (iv) the perception of complex or realistic sounds, such as music, speech or rhythm. If your work addresses any of these aspects, we would be delighted to include your contribution within our session.
As is customary within Forum Acusticum, you will be able to submit your contribution either as a short peer-reviewed paper for publication in Proceedings of Forum Acusticum 2026 (submission deadline for this option is 31st of March 2026), or as title and abstract only (submission deadline 30th of April 2026). For the latter option, authors will have the opportunity to submit a final paper for publication in the non-peer-reviewed Documenta of Forum Acusticum 2026. Both types of submissions can be made via the FA2026 website (https://forum-acusticum.org/fa2026/) starting January 2026.
If you are considering a submission for our particular session (A14.05: Neural substrates of complex auditory perception and auditory scene analysis), we would appreciate if you could contact us by around the middle of February (see our contact details below).
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration! If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Graz in September!
Yours sincerely,
