Re: Rap vocals

Hi Robert,

Here’s an even lower-tech solution: a direct link to download 500 files (~3 Gb). After a quick Google search, I found a reddit user who had various volumes of hiphop acapella files available for download on their Google Drive account. I have compiled them in one place for easy downloading. Files are organized by BPM and are mostly mp3 format, but the quality appears decent enough from the few files I sampled. It turns out the DJ / beat production enthusiast community shares resources like this often.

If you are (rightfully) hesitant about downloading random files from Google Drive, the account that I linked is affiliated with my University Google account so I can assure you there is nothing malicious or harmful in any of these files (a quick virus scan by Windows also confirmed this). Anyone with the link should have access to download the contents of the folder but let me know if this does not work.

Best,

Michael S.

Dear colleagues

We are looking for audio recordings of rap or hip-hop music that contain only the vocalizations, without any instrumental background. Does anybody know of such a database?

Alternatively, any databases of a capella singing in general would also be useful, if you can recommend any.

Thank you for your help and best wishes

Robert
