Applications are invited for a tenure eligible faculty position at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. This Translational faculty position represents a joint hire between the Departments of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery
(https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/otolaryngology) and Physiology & Biophysics (https://medschool.cuanschutz.edu/physiology) as we seek to expand the Hearing and Balance research cluster
at the UC-AMC. This highly collaborative group includes several NIH-funded investigators with broad interests in peripheral and central mechanisms associated with auditory and vestibular function from animal models to humans and includes Drs. Agrawal, Greene,
Klug, Manchaiah, Peng, Rennie, Santos-Cortez, Tollin, Uhler, and others.
This unique group of investigators is focused on addressing key research questions in hearing and balance spanning across basic, translational and clinically focused research. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D., MD or MD/PhD and will lead an active extramurally funded research program focused on central/cortical mechanisms of auditory and/or vestibular function using cutting edge techniques such as in vivo Ca2+ imaging, electrophysiology, bioengineering, brain computer/machine interfaces, and/or computational approaches. Successful applicants are expected to lead a vigorous, externally funded research program, participate in professional, medical and/or graduate program teaching, and complete serve duties for the department, school and/or campus. We have two new department chairs making for exciting times at Colorado. Dr Yuri Agrawal (Otolaryngology) and Dr David DiGregorio (Physiology). Collectively our group has a NIDCD T32 training grant supporting PhD students and postdocs and a new R25 supporting research-oriented Otolaryngology residents.
