Postdoctoral Research Associate

(Communication Sciences and Disorders)

 

What We Are Looking For

Dr. Yang-Soo Yoon (PI for the Laboratory of Translational Auditory Research at Baylor University) is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Fellow position for the 2024-2025 academic year. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2024. The focus of the position is a data analysis and dissemination of the results. This opportunity is appropriate for applicants who want to learn how to analyze data and how to write the scientific manuscripts. 

 

 

What You Will Do

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to analyzing existing psychoacoustic and speech perception datasets, gathered from listeners with normal hearing, hearing aids, or cochlear implants and writing manuscripts for publications. Previous experience with cochlear implant or hearing aid users/signal processing research is desired.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in Hearing Sciences, Neurosciences, or other speech-perception and auditory system related disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Proficiency in English writing at an exceptional level
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time

basis.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also contribute to:

  • Designing new experiments for cochlear implant users.
  • Advising undergraduate research assistants.
  • Providing assistance with the preparation of project-related reports, manuscripts and presentations.
  • Conduct research design and oversee experiments.
  • Develop and establish experimental procedures.
  • Prepare and manage extensive databases.
  • Develop and implement research quality control procedures.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports; develop recommendations based on results.
  • Verify the accuracy and validity of data.
  • Work with highly technical and complex research instruments.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
  • Ability to comply with University policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
