The Analysis, Creation and Teaching of Orchestration (ACTOR) project is pleased to announce the second edition of the Timbre & Orchestration Summer School, which will be held at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, July 12-15, 2024.
Building on the success of the first edition (Thessaloniki 2023), the second edition again foregrounds the rich and interdisciplinary world of timbre and orchestration research, engaging with questions related to musicology, ethnomusicology, history, music
theory, composition, cognitive neuroscience, and acoustics.

TUTORS
We are thrilled to introduce our tutors:
PROGRAM
In addition to three days of tutorial sessions (July 12-14), students will have the opportunity to present in a Poster Session on July 15, as well as attend the Plenary session of the Y6 ACTOR Workshop, and join tutors in informal discussion sessions.
PARTICIPANTS
We welcome graduate, advanced undergraduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers in any field of music-related research with keen interest in timbre and orchestration.
COSTS
Selected participants will be notified by March 15, 2024 and invited to register. The Summer School tuition is $750, which includes accommodation in the Totem
Park Residence, breakfast, and lunch. Dinner will be offered on one of the nights of the school.
