[AUDITORY] PhD studentship at Baylor University



Two fully funded PhD-studentships are available for 4 years to study in the Laboratory of Translational Auditory Research directed by Dr. Yang-Soo Yoon starting Fall 2024. Our program is in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baylor University which is located in Waco, Texas, USA. We are looking for a candidate with an interest in both technical and clinical audiological aspects with potential interests in enhancing speech perception and developing efficient fitting tools for individuals with hearing devices. We admit students for fall semester only. Application due is January 1. GRE scores are not required. Monthly stipend is available to all accepted students. Information about CSD PhD program at Baylor and application details can be found here

 

 

Preferred qualifications include:  

  • Master’s degree in one of the fields: electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, hearing technology and audiology, physics or similar 
  • Doctor of Audiology 
  • Good knowledge in at least one of the programming languages and tools: MATLAB, Python, C/C++/C#, or similar. 
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: digital signal processing, audio/video/multimedia technology, statistical analysis methods, conducting / analyzing empirical studies. 
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research between technology and human perception.
