[Apologies for cross-posting] Dear list, on behalf of Prof. Alexander Raake, I would like to announce two new PhD positions within the framework of the NeuroSensEar project [1], which aims at developing bio-inspired, adaptive, and intelligent
acoustic sensors in combination with AI-based as well as neuromorphic sound/speech analysis to enable highly efficient hearing aids of the future. The positions are in the Audiovisual Technology Group at the Institute of Media Technology (IMT) at TU Ilmenau in close cooperation with the Semantic Music Technologies (SMT) group at Fraunhofer
IDMT and will start on October 1st, 2023, initially limited to 3 years with the possibility for extension. The first position [2] focusses on hearing perception, simulation, and the evaluation of hearing aid algorithms and prototypes developed in the project regarding the speech intelligibility and
audio quality achieved with them. The second position [3] focusses on the development of resource-efficient acoustic scene analysis algorithms, which can be continuously adapted to novel environments. You can expect an exciting and interdisciplinary scientific environment with excellent technological equipment and an international and collegial team.
