We
are pleased to announce that beginning in September 2023, the Master’s Degree Programme in Music and Science at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) will be admitting international students.
The
Master's Degree Programme in Music and Science is aimed at students interested
in understanding the various functions of music in contemporary life by examining music through a cognitive, psychological and societal lens. The programme is multidisciplinary, and suitable for individuals
from various backgrounds including musicology, music education, music therapy, and psychology/cognitive science. Course topics include: Music & Emotion, Music Cognition, Embodiment in Music, Therapeutic Uses of Music, Music & Creativity, Computational Music
Analysis.
The
degree programme is a two-year course run by some of the world’s leading researchers in music cognition, music psychology, and music therapy. It is closely affiliated to two flagship research projects hosted by the Department of Music, Arts & Culture Studies:
