(Apologies for multiple postings)
Dear all,
The Music, Imaging, and Neural Dynamics Lab (web.northeastern.edu/mindlab) at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a Research Assistant (both full-time benefits-eligible) to help with neuroscience studies on music as a form of brain stimulation for Alzheimer’s Disease. The Lab is part of the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health (https://impactengines.northeastern.edu/ia/cbh/) at Northeastern University’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex, and provides an intellectually vibrant environment for researchers who study the science of music, and its effects on brain and cognitive health.
Both positions will involve designing and administering research protocols on music-based interventions for special populations such as persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders. Additional tasks involve collecting and analyzing behavioral, neuroimaging, and electrophysiological data, and writing and presenting scientific research. Motivated candidates will have opportunities to co-author manuscripts and to present research at conferences.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will additionally be developing innovative research programs around the topic of music and science, leading secondary data analyses, mentoring undergraduate students, and communicating and coordinating with senior researchers from different fields.
Applicants should send:
1) a letter of application addressing the selection criteria and indicating how their background and expertise fit with the specific needs of the lab;
2) a curriculum vitae or resume;
3) a sample of academic writing, and
4) the names and contact information of 3-5 references.
All applications should be submitted online through Northeastern’s Workday site:
