[AUDITORY] Midwest Auditory Research Conference  - Abstracts are due on Friday, April 29th



Title: Midwest Auditory Research Conference  - ABSTRACT DEADLINE IS ONE WEEK FROM TODAY

Please take this opportunity to register for the MARC which will be held on June 23-25, 2022, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The conference is hosted by Kresge Hearing Research Institute on the University of Michigan Campus.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION - deadline is one week from today

Abstracts are due on Friday, April 29th and you must be registered for the conference to submit an abstract for review

  • After registration is completed, please submit an abstract to present a poster and/or be considered for a talk in one of the podium sessions.
  • Most talks during the MARC are reserved for trainees and early career faculty. Invitations to present in podium sessions will be determined based on abstract submissions.
  • Please limit abstracts to 500 words.

STUDENTS/TRAINEES from underrepresented minority groups who submit an abstract may be eligible for travel awards.

GOALS:

  • To foster collaborations among basic, clinical, and translational hearing and vestibular scientists and clinicians from the Midwest.
  • To provide an affordable and accessible opportunity for graduate and postdoctoral students to present their work while interacting with national leaders in the field at a national-caliber scientific meeting.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

  • Ruth Anne Eatock, PhD - Ion channels that shape and transmit head-motion signals in rodent utricular hair cells and afferents
  • Gwenaelle Geleoc, PhD - Development of therapeutic approaches for usher syndrome
  • Maria Neimark Geffen, PhD - Cortical mechanisms for making sense of sounds
  • Elisabeth Glowatzki, PhD - Mechanisms and modulation of synaptic transmission in the mammalian cochlea
  • Matthew Kelley, PhD - Cochlear development; new tools to address old questions
  • Barbara Shinn-Cunningham, PhD - Cortical networks involved in everyday listening
  • Larry Trussell, PhD - Exploring the diversity of cell types in the cochlear nucleus

COST:

  • Principal Investigators and faculty - $80 per person
  • Students and trainees - $30 per person

ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Dormitory rooms on the University of Michigan campus will be available for $65.60 per night. Information about how to reserve a dorm room will be provided after conference registration is completed.
  • Attendees can also reserve rooms at any of the Ann Arbor hotels. Here are a few often used by guests to UM.
