Dear Colleagues, Plans are now underway to hold the next International Hearing Aid Conference (IHCON) in person in Lake Tahoe, California, on August 10–14, 2022. We will monitor the situation
as the date approaches and will pivot to a hybrid meeting or an entirely virtual meeting if the situation calls for it.
Attendees are invited to contribute abstracts of presentations for the scientific program. Abstracts for all invited and contributed presentations are required
and must be received no later than May 10, 2022 for inclusion in the conference program. Notification of abstract acceptance/rejection will be made no later than June
30, 2022. Please visit ihcon.societyconference.com to
submit your abstract(s). The purpose of the IHCON conference is to advance knowledge and facilitate progress in hearing-aid research and development through the exchange of current research findings and
technical advances related to the treatment of hearing impairment with hearing aids and other technologies. The organization of IHCON 2022, as with the previous IHCON meetings, will emphasize the international and multidisciplinary nature of the field and
the rapid pace of developments occurring throughout the world. Both invited and contributed presentations will address topics relevant to hearing-aid research. The Scientific Committee (Louise Hickson, Karolina Smeds, and Tobias Neher) have been developing the program. Please refer to the IHCON website (https://ihcon.org)
for the current list of topics for IHCON 2022 and the
list of invited speakers. New to this year's conference, we will be introducing the
International Hearing Aid Seminar (IHAS),
to be held immediately prior to IHCON, in order to foster research by junior investigators (e.g., advanced graduate students, postdocs, and junior scientists) in industry and academia. IHAS will only be held if there is an in-person component to the 2022 meeting. Sig Soli Scholarships: Undergraduate students, graduate students,
post-doctoral fellows, and medical students and residents are welcome to apply for a Sig Soli scholarship. Female students, under-represented minority students, and students with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Student scholarships will provide
a travel stipend and cover accommodations at
Granlibakken. The number of scholarships awarded per laboratory or research group may be limited, depending on the availability of funds. The Sig Soli Scholarship is named after the late Dr. Sig Soli, the founder of IHCON. We are accepting submissions until May 10th. Please refer to the
IHCON website for updates and additional details about the meeting as the COVID-19 virus situation evolves. We look forward to seeing you at IHCON 2022—hopefully in person, but otherwise virtually!
