I am hoping to get some advice on presenting stimuli to hearing aid users for an experiment. The goal is to present stimuli to hearing aid users directly from a PC via insert headphones. We would like to ask if pre-processed signal “A” is better than pre-processed
signal “B”, with each sound consisting of a .wav file. To present the signals, we would like to pre-process the wav files for each listener based on their audiogram using a reasonable hearing aid prescription, such as (but not necessarily) NAL-NL2.
How do I pre-process these wav files? Is there a software tool available where I can provide an audiogram and a wav file and it will output such a file? Could somebody point me to such a tool? A free solution would be preferred, but I would appreciate learning
about any solution.
Any help / pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, David
