[AUDITORY] The Seven Year Anniversary of monotoSTEREO.info!

Greetings to all!

January 29, 2022 marks seven years since my monotoSTEREO.info website went live. It has been incredibly gratifying to witness the evolution of spectral editing tools and AI-based music source separation technology and tools. Hundreds of songs have already been upmixed from mono to stereo through the use of this technology and its tools!

I started the website seven years ago to provide a collection of resources for individuals interested in upmixing mono source material to stereo through the use of spectral editing and sound (music) source separation. In that time the website has been visited almost 57,000 times by individuals in 178 countries!

Those interested in this unique use of this technology will find this article written by Jesse Jarnow interesting: How Audio Pros ‘Upmix’ Vintage Tracks and Give Them New Life. I am one of the people featured in the article!

Hundreds of examples, a number of which have been released commercially, are now linked to on the MEDIA pages of the website:

I would like to take this opportunity to again thank the researchers, developers, and companies who have made this technology and its tools possible and accessible. I would also like to thank the audio engineers who have showcased what is possible with this technology!

A big thanks to all who have visited monotoSTEREO.info over the past seven years. It will certainly be interesting seeing the ways in which this technology continues to evolve and improve over the next seven years! Thank you all for your continued interest and support of this website!

Best regards,
