There are a number of PhD projects available in hearing, currently advertised at Nottingham Trent University (apologies for cross-posting): Expecting Thunderclaps then Lightning Strikes: How do we integrate sound and light in a complex world? Supervisors: Darren Rhodes, Kate Roberts, Chris Sumner. Improving hearing aid fitting: “Decoding” of naturally spoken speech from brain waves using machine-learning algorithms Supervisors: Fred Vanheusden, Chris Sumner Understanding how individual differences in hearing impairment and age impact on audio-visual speech perception. Supervisors: Paula Stacey, Chris Sumner, Kate Roberts. Funding is flexible and centred around potential candidates.
