The Department of Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Illinois is accepting applications for a Visiting Laboratory Coordinator. This position will support federally funded research grants through the coordination of research

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and conduct research for two NIH-funded research projects with external collaborators, including participant recruitment, conducting research experiments and data collection procedures, research assistant training, communication
with research collaborators at other sites, coordination of lab spaces for research projects, data entry procedures, supervising and training students working on research projects, and other research activities as assigned. Assist with research reports, presentations, and other research dissemination activities. Assist the Laboratory PI with management of the research lab. Review of Institutional Review Board (IRB) application materials and all research certification processes to ensure compliance of research protocols. Manage some of the daily operations of the lab (including maintenance of lab equipment and purchasing, reimbursements, and p-card reconciling.). Work with group website designer to coordinate and update content. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing science, Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution of higher education.
Experience running human subjects in laboratory experiments, interacting with patients in medical settings, working with grants and IRB matters, and the multiple methods/tools used in
auditory research.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, computer skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, webpage editing, and data management), as well as organizational and prioritization skills.
Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field. An understanding of basic hearing science concepts (as well as those specific to speech perception research and auditory development).
SALARY Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time (100%), 12-month, renewable, Visiting Academic Professional appointment. As this position is grant funded, it is subject to the continued availability of funding
