Dear All,
I am a PhD candidate from Limerick Institute of Technology here in Limerick, Ireland researching auditory perception and
sonification. If there are any among you interested in and/or practicing sonification I would be keen to get your perspective on the perceptual aspects of sonification. My research into
Perceptually Congruent Sonification (PerCS) has examined the role of auditory perception in sonification, particularly that of Auditory Scene Analysis (ASA) and Stream Segregation, and was first introduced at the ICAD 2019 Student ThinkTank.
Below is a link to my collated research in the form of a Web Guide that includes a number of audio-visual interactions illustrating ASA principles (core content can be found under the Guidelines section):
This second link is to a very short survey that aims to assess how important those involved with sonification consider pre-existing auditory perception research, as well as their experience of the above Web Guide:
I'd appreciate any feedback on this topic (even if it's only a response to the first part of the survey) and will share the preliminary results.
Please contact joe.fitzpatrick@xxxxxx for any questions.
Stay safe (and apologies for cross-posting),
