[AUDITORY] submit a letter of support for web-based audition research

Dear AUDITORY, if you would like assistance moving your experiments online, please follow the instructions in Josh de Leeuw & Josh Hartshorne's email below to submit a letter of intent to the NSF. There is a large collaboration going on (100+ labs already) and if this is funded it will provide free resources to the entire community for improving online research. So far only a few audition-related labs are involved, so it would be good to add more. The form and letter take about 5 minutes to complete.

jsPsych and Pushkin are wonderful platforms and my lab has used them from the start, serving experiments to hundreds of thousands of participants over the last year.

best

Dear jsPsych users,

Thank you for submitting your information on the form I circulated over the past few weeks. I'm writing to ask for your support in seeking funding for the project.

Josh Harshorne and I are currently preparing a rapid turn-around grant application to provide support for researchers trying to migrate their research online. If funded we will use the grant to hire a few people to work on developing training materials, provide tech support, and adding functionality to jsPsych and Pushkin. This would benefit the entire community of jsPsych users. A one page summary of our plan is attached.

We were asked by the granting agency to demonstrate overwhelming evidence that the services we are proposing would be used. If you would benefit from increased development effort on jsPsych, whether it be new features, better documentation, faster support in the forum, or new tutorial content, please fill out this form and send a letter of collaboration (described at the bottom of the form). We welcome letters from anyone; you do not have to be a faculty member.

It should only take a few minutes to fill out the form and complete the letter. Letters must be received by April 13th. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Finally: Thanks so much for your support. It was really a pleasure to read the comments you all left in the users survey! It is motivating me to double-down my efforts on jsPsych development.

Appreciatively,
