Greetings! I am very pleased to announce the five year anniversary of my website, monotoSTEREO.info! In that time essential tools like SpectraLayers Pro have evolved from SpectraLayers Pro 2 in 2015 to SpectraLayers Pro 6 today! Izotope’s RX4 has evolved into RX7, which includes their Music Rebalance module that makes use of machine learning. It has been a very exciting five years as new easier to use tools such as XTRAX STEMS have been introduced by a pioneer in the field, Audionamix. A new company, AudioSourceRE has brought several new audio tools to market, including their excellent DeMIX Essentials application as well as their DeMIX Pro application which combines source separation and spectral editing capabilities. Zynaptiq Stem Maker technology, based on deep learning, has been incorporated into ACID Pro Next Most recently, superb new source separation applications such as Spleeter, Open-Unmix, and Demucs have all become available. Acon Digital recently announced that the next update to their Acoustica Premium Edition 7 audio editor, version 7.2, will include built-in Spleeter functionality! A number of web-based interfaces to Spleeter have appeared, including Moises, Ezstems, and Splitter. Source separation technology has even made it to iPhones and iPads with the release of the Drums Extractor and Vocal Extractor apps! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the many researchers who have continued to make significant advances in the field. A big thanks also to the software developers and software companies who have made so many superb tools available to harness spectral editing and source separation, making it possible to upmix mono source material to stereo with such spectacular results! Be sure to check out the many examples on the MEDIA pages of the website! There are now links to approximately 1,500 research papers, presentations, etc. on the RESEARCH pages of the website! There are now a total of 57 tools listed on the TOOLS pages, which are available from the pull-down menus on each page! Commercial releases making use of this technology are listed here: A companion Facebook page for the website provides updates and related content. Be sure to “Like” the Facebook page to follow it for the updates! The website has now been visited almost 33,000 times by individuals in 150 countries. It is very gratifying to see the technology continue to evolve and hear the new stereo presentations enabled by this technology. A big thanks to all of the individuals who have upmixed so many mono recordings to stereo through the use of this technology. You have confirmed that something once considered impossible is now possible! It is my sincere hope that all of you take the time to visit the website and that you find the website useful, informative, and inspiring! Best regards, Christopher Kissel, Owner & Webmaster of monotoSTEREO.info |
