I’ve used the 3As forever, but recently our clinic bought a set of Radio Ear IP30’s, and as soon as I have sufficient funds, I’ll buy a set for my lab. For audiological
purposes, the calibration is exactly the same as for the EAR 3A. What I liked best, however, were the sound tubes. They’re made of a much softer and more flexible material than what the 3As use. In our desert climate, the 3A lead tubes become very stiff and
brittle very quickly, making them hard to work with if you’re calibrating a lot with a sound level meter.

On Behalf Of Stephan Paul Dear list, does anybody have experience with the 3M™ E-A-RTONE™ Insert Earphone 5A? How does it compare in quality and ease of use to the Etymotic or Radio Ear ones? Would you recommend the 3M™ E-A-RTONE™ Insert Earphone 5A for research purposes? Any thoughts?
