[AUDITORY] Postdoctoral Fellowship – University of Louisville

Postdoctoral Fellowship – University of Louisville

We seek candidates for a full-time postdoctoral research fellowship related to the treatment of hearing impairment, broadly defined.  The fellow will be a part of a basic science research team dedicated to better understanding human auditory perception in realistic listening situations, including the impact of hearing impairment and its treatment.  The research team represents a synergistic collaboration between the University of Louisville (UofL), the Heuser Hearing Institute (HHI), and Sonova, and includes researchers from each entity.  The fellow will be housed in the laboratory of Dr. Pavel Zahorik (UofL), which has facilities both at HHI and on UofL’s Belknap campus.  More information about the laboratory and research team is available at www.zaplab.org.

The postdoctoral fellowship will be a UofL position, fully funded for two years by Sonova, with a competitive salary and benefits package that includes J-1 Visa sponsorship.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in hearing science, or a related field.  We especially seek candidates with strong technical and computer programing skills.  Experience in human electrophysiology would add a valuable component to our research team, but is not required.

Training will be available in methodologies commonly used by our team, including: virtual auditory space techniques, human psychophysics, signal processing, and advanced statistical techniques.
