[AUDITORY] Laboratory technician in auditory neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania

We are looking for a laboratory technician to work between our the Geffen and the Brant laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania. The Geffen laboratory studies the neuronal circuits for auditory perception, and the Brant laboratory focuses on translational research for implantable hearing devices. The technician would conduct research and provide technical support to several projects studying auditory brain function with the goal of designing auditory prostheses using electrophysiological methods in mice.

Responsibilities include: histology and immunohistochemistry of brain tissue, acquisition and analysis of electrophysiological data, organization of laboratory data, cell harvest, culture and general laboratory maintenance.

We are looking for an energetic and an organized individual. This would be a terrific opportunity for a recent graduate in neuroscience, biology, bioengineering or physics to gain post-bac research experience or for a more seasoned biologist experienced in one of the techniques mentioned.  Two year commitment preferred.

The position will be split between the University of Pennsylvania (75%) and the Philadelphia VAMC (25%).
