Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Spatial Audio -
We have an opening for a post-doctoral fellow (1-3 years duration) in our group to work in the area of spatial sound reproduction and perception. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person to join our project
on quantitative methods for characterizing and designing spatial audio systems. We seek candidates with a PhD and experience in one or more of the following areas: physical acoustics and acoustic space simulation, acoustic signal processing, and auditory
perception. The position is in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, which is home to the University of Rochester’s Audio and Music Engineering (AME) program with 6 faculty members, around 80 undergraduate majors, 10-15 MS students, and 10-12
PhD students in residence at any given time. The position offers considerable flexibility and collaboration with faculty in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, and the University’s Eastman School of
Music is possible and highly encouraged. Although it is not a requirement and does not factor into the selection process, the position also offers the opportunity to participate in the teaching mission of the AME program for interested candidates.
