Dear colleagues, This is a reminder for ISH 2018. 18th International Symposium on Hearing – ISH2018 The meeting will focus on fundamental hearing science, with emphasis on psychoacoustics, physiology of hearing, and auditory modelling. Information regarding the meeting can be found on our website
http://ish2018.dk and will be distributed through the Auditory List.
The International Symposium on Hearing (ISH) has been held approximately every three years in Europe since 1969. The hallmark of this truly interdisciplinary meeting is to bring together well-known researchers as well as young talents specializing
in psychophysics, physiology and models of hearing. This connection stimulates discussion on the physiological mechanisms underlying auditory perception and provides the basis for a better understanding of auditory function. Modelling approaches complement
the experimental studies and serve as a framework for interpreting the results and developing new experimental paradigms. The topics will cover both fundamental concepts of neural coding and signal processing at various levels along the auditory pathway, consequences
for auditory perception in various acoustic environments, as well as implications for compensation strategies for people with hearing impairment.
The program is limited to 55-60 podium presentations of about 20 min. There will be no parallel sessions, and participants will be expected to attend the majority of the sessions throughout the week. Presenters will be selected based on a
4-page, 2-column paper that will be published in a special open access issue in Hearing in Acta Acust. united with Ac. Vol 104 No. 5 September/October 2018.
The total number of participants, including podium speakers, is limited to 120-150. Priority will be given to authors or co-authors. Conference fees, including catering, accommodation for 5 nights and social program are expected to be between
€950 (for a shared room) and €1250 (for a single room).
The meeting will take place at Comwell Borupgaard, located in Northern Zealand, close to Elsinore, about 45 km north of Copenhagen.
The important dates are as follows: January 2018:
Submission open for initial 4-page papers 01 March 2018:
Deadline for submission of initial papers for the symposium 21 March 2018: Notice of conference acceptance. Submissions accepted to the conference will be considered for further peer-review.
