The Center for Research on Brain Language & Music (Montreal, Canada) is currently looking for motivated candidates
for a post-doctoral research opportunity investigating the issue of cognitive load induced by cochlear implants within speech perception tasks. This project uses psychoacoustical methods, pupillometry and EEG, and
has both a fundamental and a clinical axis in collaboration with an industrial partner. The research will be conducted at
MUHC’s (McGill University Health Center) Cochlear Implant
Research Program, under the supervision of Dr. Mickael Deroche and Dr. Alexandre Lehmann, affiliated with
McGill University
(Medicine), CRBLM (Centre
for Research on Brain, Language and Music),
BRAMS (International Laboratory for Brain, Music and Sound research).
Altogether, these centers offer one of the best infrastructures currently available worldwide for experimental approaches to auditory cognitive neuroscience. The ideal applicant must have a Ph.D. in Audiology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering or
a related field. Proficiency in oral and written English is mandatory. A solid background in methodology, programming, statistics and scientific writing is required. The candidate is expected to be autonomous and to have a relevant track-record of peer-reviewed
publication. Previous experience with research on cochlear implantation and/or cognitive load will be an asset. The position is for a period of two years, and the expected start date is negotiable but ideally from December 01, 2017. Salary will be in accordance
with McGill’s post-doctoral remuneration guidelines. Montreal has been dubbed "Canada's Cultural Capital" and host the biggest Jazz festival in the world, as well
