[AUDITORY] Fechner Day 2017

Dear Colleagues: 

You are cordially invited to Fechner Day 2017, the 33rd Annual Meeting of
the International Society for Psychophysics, which will be held in
Fukuoka, Japan, from Sunday to Thursday, 22-26 October 2017. Please refer
to our website for information on how to propose theme sessions, make
submissions and to register, as well as other details

Research Center for Applied Perceptual Science (ReCAPS), Kyushu University

1. Conference Venue

The conference takes place in Kyosokan (from 22 to 25 October) and 
Honkan (on 26 October only), Denki Building, 2-1 Watanabe-dori, 
Chuo-ku, Fukuoka 810-0004, Japan.

2. Areas of Interest

Authors are invited to submit papers and propose symposiums on 
topics including, but not limited to:

Sensory processes
Perception of space and time
Cross-modal processing
Psychophysical methods
Mathematical and computational models
Animal psychophysics
History and philosophy of psychophysics
Cognitive factors in psychophysics (e.g. memory, attention)
Practical applications

3. Key Dates

All key dates are in Japan Standard Time (JST), which is nine hours 
ahead of Universal Time (Greenwich Time: GMT).

• Friday, 21 April 2017, 17:00 (JST): Deadline for symposium 
proposals.
• Friday, 5 May 2017: Deadline for submission of free talks, posters, 
and stipend applications.
• Friday, 30 June 2017: Deadline for submission of proceedings 
manuscripts.
• Friday, 21 July 2017: Deadline for early registrations.
• Friday, 22 September 2017: Deadline for registrations.

4. Events

• Sunday, 22 October: Welcome reception takes place from 5 to 7 
p.m. in Conference Room C, Kyosokan.
• Monday, 23 October: Keynote Presentations by Prof. Isamu 
Motoyoshi (Department of Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo), 
"Visual psychophysics with natural images," and Prof. Robert 
Hartsuiker (Department of Experimental Psychology, Ghent 
University), "Processing spoken words in a second language: 
Competition, prediction, and alignment (provisional title)."
• Wednesday, 25 October: The 2nd International Five-Sense 
Symposium, and Gala Dinner.
