Job: Research Study Coordinator - Laboratory for Auditory Brain Sciences & Neuroengineering (U. of Washington, Seattle)
The Laboratory of Auditory Brain Sciences and Neuroengineering (LABS^N, http://depts.washington.edu/labsn/) under Dr. Adrian KC Lee in the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) at the University of Washington (Seattle) is currently seeking a Research Study Coordinator. The position is available starting January 1, 2017. Compensation is dependent on previous work experience and academic qualifications.
The Research Study Coordinator supports the research goals of the LABS^N, which employs psychoacoustic, computational, and multimodal neuroimaging methods (MEG, EEG, MRI) to investigate human auditory attention, audiovisual integration, and auditory processing disorder. Primary duties include recruiting subjects, assisting with data collection, organizing and maintaining data storage, and performing administrative duties responsible for keeping the lab running smoothly.
The successful candidate will have an aptitude for and interest in learning complex psychoacoustic and neuroimaging research methods, outstanding attention to detail, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, experience working with databases, and an ability to problem solve independently and work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with scientific research involving human subjects and with programming languages (especially Python) is desirable but not required.
Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Assistant/Coordinator OR undergraduate degree in an applicable field with an interest in auditory sciences and neuroscience are required.
