Dear list,
(apologies for cross-posting)
We are pleased to announce the Berlin Interdisciplinary Workshop on Timbre, which will take place at the Musical Instrument Museum of the Federal Institute for Music Research in Berlin, Germany, on 12 & 13 January 2017.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together young researchers and established scholars from the fields of musicology, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and engineering in order to create a multifaceted dialogue around timbre and assemble a comprehensive state of the art.
This 2-day workshop will include keynote addresses by Katharina von Kriegstein (MPI Human Cogn Brain Sc, Leipzig), Julia Kursell (University of Amsterdam), Stephen McAdams (McGill University, Montreal), and Geoffroy Peeters (IRCAM-CNRS-UPMC, Paris); 4 sessions with invited speakers, and a round table discussion of related open issues.
