Research Assistant

Auditory Electrophysiology Lab

Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

University of the Pacific, San Francisco

 

POSITION PURPOSE:  Responsible for conducting research activities under supervision and performing technical writing/editing to support the research agenda of the Auditory Electrophysiology Lab at Pacific.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Executes research activities under supervision of principal investigators

·         Conducts independent research related to audiological sciences.

·         Assists with development of grant proposals and other funding request documents.

·         Performs technical writing/editing support for other research related documents, such as IRBs

·         Coordinates activities with and for graduate students.

·         Coordinates and schedules research subjects visits.

·         Performs various duties as assigned.

           

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:

Associates degree or equivalent in natural sciences, engineering or related field.  One (1) to two (2) years of experience demonstrating interest or proficiency in research techniques, grant or proposal writing, use of Microsoft Office applications and conducting internet searches. 

              

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work performed in typical office environment.  Duties require constant sitting and repetitive motion while using computer keyboard and phone.  Frequent walking, standing, and simple grasping.  Occasional climbing stair, walking across campus, stooping, and reaching.  Constant communication using both spoken and written means. 

 

WORK SCHEDULE AND PAY

This is a 20 hours per week position. Pay scale is $24.76 per hour.
