The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBSU) is an internationally renowned research institute with state-of-the art cognitive neuroscience facilities. Applicants are invited for a Research Assistant to support a project examining the effect of a new drug on the ability of cochlear implant users to process temporal information delivered by their implant. The role will involve performing psychophysical experiments with the patients, use of specialist software and hardware, and organising and carrying out testing sessions. It may alternatively or additionally involve performing auditory experiments with normal-hearing listeners. The project will be managed by Dr Bob Carlyon.

You will have a degree in psychology or in a numerate or clinical discipline. Knowledge of cochlear implants, experience of carrying out experiments with implant users, and familiarity with psychophysical methods are all desirable.

The post is expected to start in January 2017, and is fixed term for 6 months.
