PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience

The PhD project

The PhD project will be carried out within the frame of the project “TEMPLATES: Exploring sensory templates for predictive processing through motor-sensory associations (PI: Dr. Iria SanMiguel), in which we investigate how voluntary actions shape perception, and how the interactions between action and perception give rise to the sense of agency (for more information visit the project website).


Requirements

-          Background in the fields of Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Computer Sciences, Medicine, Biology, Engineering or Physics, and a passion for neuroscience

-          A finished Master’s degree. Specifically with a total of 300 ECTS completed in your undergraduate education, of which at least 60 ECTS must be in a Master degree

-          EU citizenship

-          Outstanding academic marks. Only those with the highest average grade in both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees are successful. The final cut-off mark for obtaining a stipend has been around 8.5 in the last calls. Thus, if your mark is lower, we will not be able to support your application. You can calculate the official equivalence of your marks to the Spanish 0-10 scale using the form and the scales and equivalence tables provided here.

 1) CV, mentioning your computer skills (e.g., Matlab), experience in EEG and fMRI recordings and any other relevant data related to Neuroscience that you have been in touch with.

 2) Motivation letter

 3) Official transcript of your academic grades, preferably accompanied by the European Diploma Supplement.
