[AUDITORY] PhD Applicants sought for International Spatial Audio Research project led by the University of Sydney

PhD Studentship applications

University of Sydney – School of Electrical and Information Engineering

We are seeking PhD studentship applications to participate in an international spatial-audio research project  lead by the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney. IPRS scholarships are available to cover fees/stipend (http://sydney.edu.au/scholarships/prospective/international_postgraduate_scholarships.shtml#iprs) for qualified students on a competitive basis and top-up funding ($25K AUD) is available for three years. Students will complete a project in the areas of spatial audio, signal processing, and machine learning under the supervision of Craig Jin (University of Sydney), Tony Tew (University of York), Augusto Sarti (Politecnico di Milano), and Joan Glaunes (Université Paris Descartes) and will study both in Sydney and in collaborating laboratories. The research project focuses on morphoacoustics: relating ear acoustics to ear morphology using the tools of Large Deformation Diffeomorphic Metric Mapping and Fast Multipole Boundary Element Method.

Applicants should have the equivalent of First-class honours in the UK system and some demonstrated research capability to receive the IPRS fee waiver. Interested applicants should apply here:  http://sydney.edu.au/study/find-a-course/postgraduate-research.html, indicating interest in the spatial audio research project under supervision of Craig Jin. If you intend to apply, please send an email notifying me as well.
