Dear List, Please find below an offer for a newly implemented fellowship in Northern Germany. Feel free to forward this to interested parties. The Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all offers a research fellowship (up to 12 months) The vision of the interdisciplinary Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all is to achieve better hearing for individuals with various degrees of hearing impairment. The cluster pursues
this goal by developing new diagnostic tools and a pathophysiology-based individualized therapeutic approach. It seeks to stimulate the engineering of better hearing devices and ubiquitous assistive technologies, as well as the construction of new auditory
implants. By combining basic, clinical, translational and applied research with clinical service, engineering, and applications, the cluster aims to achieve a major breakthrough in hearing research and rehabilitation technology, thus transforming audiology
into an ‘exact‘ science. Fellows should propose a project with a focus on one of the three major research areas: A) Diagnostic characterization of the individual to optimally evaluate the hearing impairment,
B) Optimizing hearing devices by applying theory-driven functional principles, C) Developing new assistive technological solutions to precisely tailor hearing support to individual needs in a variety of listening situations. More details of the research topics
can be found at the tab for Research at http://hearing4all.eu/EN/. Fellows will affiliate
themselves to one of the principle investigators of the Cluster of Excellence (http://hearing4all.eu/EN/Organisation/Principal-Investigators.php)
providing the research environment and necessary support. Potential applicants are encouraged to contact principle investigators directly in preparing their application. Depending on affiliation with a PI, fellows will be affiliated to one of the three sites
of the Cluster of Excellence (Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Hannover Medical School, or Leibniz Universität Hannover). The application should include a short (max. 3 pages) description of the project specifying how it relates to the topics of Hearing4all, which resources are required, and to whom
the fellow would like to be affiliated. In addition, a CV, a letter of reference and a list of publications should be provided. Fellowship applications will be evaluated by members of the Hearing4all Cluster Board. Fellows will receive a salary equivalent
to that for a postdoctoral researcher (100% TV-L E13). Proposals should be sent to the Hearing4all Head Office, c/o Jennifer Köllner (email: gst@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, mail: Department Medizinische Physik und
Akustik, Carl von Ossietzky University, Carl-von-Ossietzky-Strasse 9-11, 26129 Oldenburg, Germany) no later than 31 December 2015. Enquiries may be directed to the same email address. On behalf of the Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all, JH Bach --
