Please see the following announcement of a position between Neurobiology and Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University.  The focus of the search is on the neurobiology of hearing and vocal communication, including molecular, cellular and/or systems neuroscience.

Joint faculty position in the Department of Neurobiology and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Department of Neurobiology and the Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication   Sciences and Disorders at Northwestern University are jointly recruiting a new faculty member at the level of Associate Professor with tenure.  Applicants holding a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and demonstrating an outstanding record of scientific achievement will be considered.  We are seeking individuals whose research addresses the neurobiology of hearing and vocal communication, including molecular, cellular and/or systems neuroscience. 

 

Successful candidates will have demonstrated creativity, scholarship and excellence in research and will maintain a high-profile research program attracting substantial extramural funding.  The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art life science research facilities and opportunities to interact with colleagues throughout the university including in the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program, the Northwestern Center for Audiology, Speech, Language and Learning, the Knowles Hearing Center, the McCormick School of Engineering, the Center for Advanced Molecular Imaging, the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute, the Institute for Complex Systems, and the Center for Sleep and Circadian Biology. 

                                                                                                                                                                 

Both the Department of Neurobiology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Communication Disorders in the School of Communication are located on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University, one of the nation’s largest private research universities.
